Service Description


Fume hoods play a vital role in laboratories, protecting users from harmful substances. A typical laboratory uses an exhaust blower to draw indoor air through an open fume hood window frame, carrying away harmful and toxic gases. The contaminated air is then exhausted or filtered for recirculation.
 
A large part of laboratory energy consumption comes from laboratory ventilation. From the perspective of energy saving, more and more users are considering VAV systems. Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems reduce the amount of air removed from the fume hood when the hood is not in use and the sliding door is closed.
 

Service Content


The adoption of VAV systems increases the complexity of the exhaust system, and the performance of the VAV system will affect the operation of the fume hood. Response time or lag in VAV system adjustments can be a significant cause of pollutant control failure. For example, ANSI/AIHAZ9.5–2012 requires VAV system response time to be less than 3 seconds.
