Although the air curtain type fume hood increases the power consumption of air supply, the exhaust air volume of the air curtain type fume hood is greatly reduced, and the power consumption of the exhaust air is also greatly reduced. Therefore, generally speaking, the energy saving benefit of the air curtain type fume hood is great, and some problems need to be further studied.

 

We introduce three kinds of energy-saving measures for fume hood and the existing problems. It should be noted that when considering these measures, the air balance and pressure balance of the whole room should also be considered. The air curtain type fume hood completely closes the operation port of the fume hood through the jet, and the jet continuously sucks the indoor air in the process of flow, but the volume of this part is small, and the influence on the pressure of the heating and air conditioning room is not obvious. When the cabinet door is opened, 30% of the exhaust volume of the air supply type exhaust cabinet should be supplemented by indoor air, which may cause obvious pressure change for the heating and air conditioning room. Therefore, the indoor pressure of air curtain type fume hood is easier to balance than that of air supplement type fume hood.

 

In addition, the energy-saving effect of fume hood is also closely related to the temperature of harmful substances, the structure of fume hood, whether the system design and installation are reasonable or not. As long as the majority of HVAC technical workers have the courage to explore according to the specific situation, more energy will be saved.
