However, many people do not know when and what kind of maintenance the fume hood should be carried out, so they blindly maintain the fume hood. The direct result is that the more the fume hood is maintained, the worse it will be.

Every 3 months, clean and scrub all parts of the cabinet with neutral detergent, including the inside and outside of the glass window, lining plate and deflector; Lubricate the slide rail, cable and balance pulley of the regulating door.

Every 6 months: it is recommended to check whether the regulating mechanism is corroded or damaged; Check whether all fans, motors, rotating shafts and bearings operate normally; Test whether each remote control device (faucet, gas cock) can operate normally; Check whether the exhaust outlet pipeline, especially the connecting part between the exhaust hood and the pipeline, has leakage; Check whether there is impurity accumulation inside the exhaust hood, especially at the elbow.

In case of any abnormality, replace the damaged or defective parts according to the specifications immediately; When any chemical liquid is spilled, it shall be cleaned with neutral detergent immediately.

During maintenance, it should be noted that any staff engaged in maintenance and inspection should wear protective equipment, such as mask, protective mask, protective glasses, acid and alkali resistant gloves, etc. in case of dangerous conditions during the experiment, the fume hood can be maintained only after the danger is eliminated immediately.
